Geek fantasies is a funny time I personally dig #5.....oh the humanity.

I shouldn't have posted this - ever.

Bright Eyes : Concert in Review

First off, Mars Black was pretty amusing - real good work on the turntables and the rhymes were real tolerable. While I didn't really hear much of what The Faint had to say, their presentation was boffo and they sounded pretty cool as well - at the time I was conversing in the upper deck of first ave. The show was all ages, but they let you drink the swill up there if you're at or over 21. Finally Bright Eyes was real impressive. A lot of years ago A_ron took me to see a Sheryl Crow concert and it was a good time, but poor Sheryl was at the end of the tour and pretty much every song was the equivalent of listening to the cd, which was a little disappointing, but after a long tour, I can see how artistic expression is hard to come by. Not so with the bright eyes show, which was advertised as, " Bright Eyes Performing songs from 'Digital Ash in a Digital Urn.'" They only played only like two or three songs not on that album, but the presentation was rad - no less than seven to ten band members, two drum sets, a couple of string pieces...etc. An absolutely deafening sonic incursion into my brain and a move away from playing the songs to wrote off the cd. Really it was what I go to live shows to see - bands I like playing music with an artistic edge that lables them performers and not just recording artists. That's all I've got for now.

rejustification

A couple of days ago I saw a Dodge Ram pickup truck with two greatful dead stickers, one on the tailgate and one on the back window. Additionally the truck had one of those christian fishies with a cross where the eyes are supposed to be. How does one place that market segment? Overtly stoner christians - that's some strange strange stuff - not to mention the juxtoposition of two flaming skulls and a fishie(that reminds me of a song I used to sing).

I've got K_rel's charger in a padded envelope on my desk and god willing it'll be in the f-ing mail today yet. Hurrah!

For all y'alls musical snobs out there I'm going to see brighteyes at the first avenue venue in minneapolis (side note: they don't let you smoke there anymore). There will be a forthcoming review of said concert.

Last night I went out to a bar with the executive chef at the country club that I work at after work. Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge is a real find; I've started to like NE Minneapolis better and better the more I see of it. Anyway that was a little weird in that a social engagement with a superior is always a little stressed until you get the gist of the sitch. I met his wife and a friend of his as well - it was a pretty cool time overall.

over and out,

quite right,

I saw "the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" a couple of nights ago and it was really quite the clever sci-fi thing, not really compelling, but if you're in the mood for an entertaining light hearted flick about a guy running around in his bath-robe spouting a UK accent then it'll fit the bill. Did some pricing at IKEA this weekend and found that when I move out I might just get my place all pimped and such. I'm going to get my hair cut tonight. I predict that Bo is going to win the american idol shit and the San Diego Chargers are going to win the superbowl shit. I've been working too much to blog much lately and well...this might be as good as it gets for a while or until I figure out the rest of my life, we'll see which comes first.
