obsession with unconscionable acts of violence involving public transport

Work man........well this hotel job I've got right now temporarily some of my co-workers have this "everybody's out to get me personally" attitude and their expression is "throwing (me/you/us) under the wheels of the bus." Funny - I think it might have started as a kinda funny expression, but these guys are jaded at this point. I like the expression - my addendum to them is to hum the kids song, "the wheels of the bus go round and round."..........and then later.........."the babies on the bus go whah, whah, whah!" - that's the funny part.

Right now I'm chilling just listening to some mpr and typing.

A friend of mine just got one of those Wiis - pretty cool when bowling is fun virtually. I may have to pick one of those up someday.

I've got to get back to chicago sometime soon - unfortuneately a_ron, this upcoming weekend is booked, but as I've found during the course of the last couple of years planning is essential.

Anyway ttfn,

..and I like the burger king commercial where they throw the minivan into the dump truck....kule

....and then he says,"Am I Bo Bice? Yes, I am. Well played worthy adversary..........."

nice

Dudes,

So, I'm really into cereal lately - especially the special k with red berries - no pun intended.

Right now I'm watching the new king of the hill - I'm not usually into these sunday night car-toons, but apparently it's transvestite night - first the cop on the simpson's shoots one three times and there's a transvestite loaded king of the hill now too - good shows though tonight. Multitaskin though typing and tv not too bad.

If you haven't seen lady in the water I highly recommend it - usually Mr. Shamalan's into building the mystery up until the end, but this time he gave it away at the start and still managed to craft a real story in a mean way.

I worked a couple of doubles this weekend, which was alright - I can't believe I did that almost every weekend for the better part of a year - not this year - that much I can say for sure; I don't mind working a lot or hard but doing both those things whilst missing the best part of the weekend is kinda dragging - so {kitty just jumped on me and my computer - kitty needs a lesson in personal space}more perogative to find something different.

coming to blows,

K_rel was in town earlier this week and we hit up the triple rock social club for happy hour - burger basket and a pint for $6 - right on. We also almost came to blows outside a record shoppe on accout of me buying both Elliot Smith's self titled and The Pixies' Surfer Rosa..........I think I kept the relative peace by not also picking up Natalie Merchant's Tigerlilly.

over and out,

So , like,

Keeping up to date w/ y'all internet connected persons. Here's the scoop, I got back from new year's festivities to find out that my ex-girl/current roommate is not moving to timbucktoo or where-ever she was getting out of my life to, but instead staying and planning on renting the apartment we share after I move out herself (weird, wierd construction man). Anyway, kinda boo. Got my hair cut - that was right on - the shaggy 70's thing was cool, but no longer. In quazi-related matters I went to the employee christmas party at the hotel I'm employed at and a co-worker and boss who I work with daily didn't recognize me dressed in a suit and with short hair. The one dude, a fellow cook thought I was some corporate guy grilling him for the first five minutes of the conversation, needless to say the discussion lightened up a bit afterward. I've got a policy of not hanging out too long or drinking too hard with co-workers - there's a too-laid-back, a little bit too scattered side of me that comes out in those situations that I just don't need to share with folks who's respect ties into my wage earning capacity; apparently I should have stayed though - apparently as is par for the course too good a time was had by some.

I gota get new comments and stuff up on my blog and I'm really not into editing "the code" right now - so if you've got a comment - well, we'll see if I break down and copy and paste tonight.

On gross and not twelve dozen:
The coffee shop I frequent has a broken paper towel dispenser and has a roll of like kitchen paper towel on the shelf - with other people's fingerprints displayed on the cross-section - ick!

I'm starting the double job mambo this weekend again - not sure how I'm going to hold with the three turn and burns this weekend, but hopefully I can power through it and check out some live music saturday night as well, we'll see.

So that's good for now.

Cordially,
Erasmus

post script - thanks go out again to my beloved chicago crew for the gracious hospitality over the holiday.

Hey,

I'm getting a haircut, I think - the grungy and unkempt look is tired now; any suggestions from the field?

Down for the count, but back up before the bell rings........or somethinlikethat

Yeah, so my X-mas holiday weekend turned into a sleepfest, but not on purpose. Got sick tried to sleep it off and failed, woke up and went to work this morning, still no good went to the doctor. Four hours and three perscriptions later things are looking up, conciderably really, just in time too - if you know, well, none of all y'all do, but if you did.........

Anyway, I here there's new years plans in the works and I'm going to have to be a bloody bum and fool again and have to work, but if y'all do happen to trip up to minneapolisvillehood, I'll make some time, I've just got to work until ten on the 31st and be raring and ready to roll by like 7.......so, shit who needs sleep, surely not this guy since I've caught up on that by the bunches over the last four days and nights. Additionally, there's some fantastic folks that you'd all get to meet if you do, otherwise I'll just have to plan a rendez-vous at a later date, but sooner than later, by which I mean weeks, not months and too many months it has been - far too many.

Observations:
1. Tonight I saw a clip of a pregnant suisidal woman on some itteration of CSI and I guess the trick to figure out if there serious or not is to see wether they'll risk harm to the fetus via caffine.

2. I hung out with a bunch of folk I normally would not in the waiting room at the medical center today and I really appreciate the open conversation - like everybody's invited to speak share and laugh - this one dude with a wicked bad toothache was all like why so solomn in here doesn't anyone smile in a hospital? Point taken. Helluva fine time, plus the doctor gave me a really great big pill to chill on whilst I wait for the perscription paperwork to get filled out.

Anyway, I'll be calling around in the next couple of days just to se where y'alls at 'n such.

Until then,
Chromeeyes

post script: My regards go out to a Mr. Th_w for hitting me up with the full firefly series - in my illin' I watched the whole series (only one season) in two days and it was a fine fine time. Apparently, I get to watch the conclusion with another proponent of the series tomorrow night after work and transit, work for me.

Lately I'm really into,

1) growing my hair out
2) dark haired girls
3) brushing my teeth
4) the arcade fire
5) these long sleaved tee-shirts that I bought at the limited for men from a woman who grew up in marshfield
6) sleeping until 7am

New Stuff,

I took a new cooking job and am paring one down and sluffing one off. I'm excited, it'll be a supervisor position. Really, it's the first job that's not entirely entry level that I've ever had, neat. Additionally, I need to go christmas shopping and I'm not sure what to get anyone this christmas...or even how much money to spend......that's one thing that's better with a girl, having someone to go christmas shopping with, maybe I'll get one and then go shopping, shit maybe I'll just get a reasonable faximile and go shopping with it or them or whatever. Oh yeah, I need to go christmas shopping because I'm likely going to not spend this christmas with my family - pa-rents are heading a little too far east to accomidate my schedule. That'll be a first, but I'm really kinda looking forward to that, I might head to greenbay, kidnap my grandfather and go christmas party crashing with our extended relatives, we'll see if that works out. Otherwise I just may hang here - thanksgiving was wasted really, I should have just stayed here and done the orphan buisness, which I partook in to some extent anyway.

In other news..........yeah I really don't have much for other news, just living working and trying to figure exactly what I'm doing on this planet - all I know for sure right now is that I'm endeavoring to be a good man, that is the one thing I value above all else.

There's this Twin Cities' artist named Michael Birawer who.......well let me get the link for ya - here- anyway, I really want a turf club print. The stuff's a little goofy, but funashell. (fun as hell, not fun a shell - MONKEY!)

I saw an acquaintence's profile on a site I used to frequent today........funny stuff that.

I'm going to be sad to leave my job at the golf club I worked at for better than two years, I'm aspiring to not loose touch with a good friend there, we'll see, not loosing touch isn't really my forte, but last time it worked so maybe again it will too......effort though, effort.

I really should be sleeping right about now, but I was up late last night(went to the triple rock to see some local girl band rock out and have some drinks with a friend - good times were had by all, except the kitchen was closed by 11 and I was wicked hungry and then that cuban samich place on lake, just west of 55 was closed when we tripped by a 2, yeah that sucked, so I ate two chipoltle burritos for lunch at one to make up for it - then I took a nap) and just don't have the sleep in me and it's not because of caffine or......well, it could be then nap I took, but really...I just want to sleep and can't seem to actualize the concept, so as usual I'm avoiding, typing, wasting time.

I wish i new..................

Yeah,

I was starting to sour on the whole hip hop thing having not heard anything good lately, but seriously, sage francis is a lot of fun. Additionally, The Boards of CAnada are treating me just fine as well.

Yesterday after work, well during work, fillipe en vert, stopped by and we hit a movie and then zeno for a coffee and such. Anyway, Baxter is a real funny film; it's been a while since I've laughed so hard out loud.

I worked today, that was alright.

My second job is slowing down - I'm mulling some options, one of which is just taking some time off from second jobs.

I think the best thing about bob dylan's voice is that he sounds like he may break into laughter at any moment on any bridge, chorus or verse.

Disturbing,

So I stumbled on a site detailing "parasomnias" and yeah I'm like there, man. I've got nightmares, confusion arousals, sleep walking, sleep talking, and I think I've got sleep paralysis to a real limited degree (I can't wake up from dreams while I'm having them, but aware of the dream - most disturbing).

What parasomnia do you have?
brought to you by quizzwebmd

Anyway, I woke up at like four this morning after going to sleep at eleven pm and took like an hour to get back to sleep until like seven-thirty at which time I got my shit together, took a shower, and decided to stop by the birchwood and see filipe en vert, but after further examination it seems he had the morning off, but I did get to flirt with the cute dark haired server girl, so that was worth while. I'll have to stop by again when I can really check things out.

After that little jaunt, pastry (excelent cherry cardomon thing), I went to IKEa to look for a little table or something for my laptop, like a desk, but smaller. I found what I wanted, but they were out of stock and I'm not the ordering type, especially when it's something that I don't need and probably worn't really use.

Anyway, I got back home and chilled a little bit, took a nap and here I am.

Over,
Chromeeyes

post script: I hate and love shopping for spring jacket(I also did that on my way back from IKEa).

The World Isn't Quite Real Yet

So I just woke up from a four hour nap....my brain's kinda funny right now, real restless four hours I probably woke up half a dozen times during the course of it. I'm again at the urban bean blogging and there's a group of theater people doing an interview talking about objective theater and some such bullshit..........sigh

Anyway, I'm so foggy right now that when I walked into the shop they were playing the new Gorillas CD and I had to ask what cd they were playing - I love that disk. I should seriously check out if there's a sleep disorder match for me........brb

ani's superhero

Well, after much stumbling, I found out that the reason I couldn't network with my room-mate's computer was because I had not one, but two software firewalls running on my computer I got ahold of his extensive collection, which includes ani difranco's dilate and the song superhero, damn......that shit brings me back to monica, mosh pits, a summer in an apartment with three of my best friends and one random girl ann who kicked ass and bought us beer which we drank on the tar roof outside musebomb's window - the window that brought hot air and garbage truck sounds in at six am, a tequila bottle filled with listerine and a pint jar filled and subsequently emptied into the wakogeko's gullet of tequila, talking about chickbugs and their thirst for grape soda with the poor, poor cashier at that grocery on mifflin street, really big pants that could fit one of us in each let, a mattress in a room with a fire-escape smoking lounge, running along with my biking friends down to picnic point and back again at nine pm and then chaining three cigarettes upon returning home, cross-country skiing lessons in an eighty degree living room...........Wow that shit's flashing....and back

Today was a good day, I'm taking on a bit of extra responsibility at my day job; the chef is finally taking some much, much needed hours off of his schedule and I'll get to run solo for a good bit of the breakfast/lunch/brunch show and even get some help when it's needed, technically, we're all on the level there, but it's like I said to the sucker who questioned my authority a week and a half ago, "you can follow my lead or you can do what you're doing and deal with the consequences later"....or some such shit. I'm having a good time, for the time being, making up my own fun food lunch specials and plodding through the less than scintillating breakfast/lunch/brunch stuff - I figure, as I have for some time that work is work, it's not what the work is that matters, it's how you do it....yeah, chromeeyes, wax fucking poetic some more and you'll have issues........

Anyway, I'm coffee shop blogging right now, which is cool and I'm a little sad to see that there aren't any shows that are catching my fancy the next couple of days, but I've been off from my second job and will be until saturday all week and it feels good to drink a glass of wine after work, shoot some breeze with my co-workers, grab some sushi (did that tonight) from the grocery store and be up to my own devices for the remainder of the evening.

I hope I don't get sick off that grocery store sushi. I've done it before and haven't, but I always hope the same thing. They're some bloody moron definition of insanity that goes as follows: Insanity is repeating the same function expecting different results.

Hurrican aftermath sensitivity warning,

Alright, I watched the premier of the second season of Lost tonight although I’d never seen the first season. Notable - the tv station decided that warning me of the impending rain was more important than letting me watch Lost in a timely manner, so I watched and surfed through like fourty-five minutes of it’s raining, so if you don’t want to get wet go inside “public service” coverage of the “storm” until which time the tv station decided to rebroadcast the premier of lost on an affiliate station. The coverage was god-awful, at one point, having nothing better to discuss an anchor was talking about how busy the insurance adjusters were going to be tomorrow……..really bad stuff. Anyway, I think I may keep up with Lost for a while while it’s convenient or not but it was an alright show for a slow night. Anyway, afterwards there is this aliens show that was premiering and there was some shitty warning regarding the depiction of hurrican aftermath and those sensitive to such things should be advised..............wow.

My allergies were terrible tonight and I’m not sure, but everyone around me seems to be sick, from my boss to the barista who’s got some serious undergarment disfunction ;). Yeah, I’m beaning it again ( I’m not sure how I like the sound of that, but it might grow on me - I’m not sure I’m cool necessarily with folks being able to google where I hang out and find me, but beaning is at the Urban Bean, so that’s that forever in google land I guess.)

Anyway, work was cool today, I found out that the rest of the kitchen staff is getting their hours cut, but the chef told the general manager that under no circumstances would he cut my hours. My call is that that cuts two ways: 1) the chef knows that the hours that I put in are worth more than my wage and he knows he’s getting his money’s worth and 2) he knows that if he cuts my hours I’ll just go get another job cooking because of item one. I feel bad for the rest of the staff though, I mean, money’s ok in the chrome eyes world, not overly abundant, but it’s ok, I work two jobs and have like 75% more income than they do, so a hundred bucks a week might not suck too bad for me, but for them it really sucks and that sucks, but I guess they could get another job too so that’s that.

OH, SHIT YEAH. My Claritin just kicked in - BADASS!

Over and out for now,
